Coding-agent launcher (Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Hermes, Pi), crash notifications that hand a core dump to the agent, and a usage TUI and Quickshell panel. Ported from Omarchy's agent tooling out of nix-config's dots/agents module, with a Nix-free install.sh for Fedora and Ubuntu. Omarchy's Claude/Codex collectors and panel icons are copied unchanged at the commit in UPSTREAM_REV. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

agents
A coding-agent launcher, crash diagnosis and usage panel for any Linux desktop. It's a port of the agent tooling in Omarchy that doesn't depend on Omarchy, Hyprland or Nix, and works with Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Hermes and Pi.
agentstarts your default agent in a new terminal, or on a prompt:agent, agent codex, agent pick, agent prompt "why is my wifi slow",agent default opencode.- Crash diagnosis. When one of your programs dumps core, a notification
offers to hand it to the agent along with the
diagnose-crashskill.agent crash-mute <program>silences one. - Usage.
agent usageshows each agent's token use and rate limits in the terminal. With Quickshell installed, agent paneltoggles a panel with the same data and a few troubleshooting starters.
Install (Fedora, Ubuntu)
git clone https://git.avgtechguy.com/avgtechguy/agents.git ~/.local/src/agents
~/.local/src/agents/install.sh
The installer doesn't use sudo. It lists any missing packages with the
dnf or apt command to install them. The agent CLIs come from their own
installers. Settings are in ~/.config/agents/config.sh, which the first run
writes and later runs leave alone.
To update, git pull and run install.sh again. install.sh --uninstall
removes everything except your settings and usage history.
Optional extras:
- Crash notifications need
notify-sendandcoredumpctl. On Ubuntu that meanslibnotify-binandsystemd-coredump, which takes crash handling over from apport. - The panel needs Quickshell and a compositor with wlr-layer-shell
(COSMIC, Hyprland, KDE, Sway). On Fedora, Quickshell is in the
errornointernet/quickshellCOPR. Ubuntu doesn't package it, so it has to be built from source. - COSMIC shortcuts. If you have no custom shortcuts yet, the installer binds Super+Ctrl+A to the panel and Super+Ctrl+Shift+A to the agent. Otherwise it prints the two lines to add.
Nix
NixOS and Home Manager hosts install this through the myAgents module in
nix-config, which takes
this repo as a flake input. Nothing here needs Nix, and the scripts in bin/
don't know which installer set them up: both define the same AGENTS_*
variables before running them.
